LASER World of PHOTONICS CHINA 2025, hosted by Messe München Shanghai Co., Ltd., opened on March 11 to great anticipation and enthusiastic applause.

Marking a significant milestone, the year 2025 commemorates the 20th anniversary of LASER World of PHOTONICS CHINA. After two decades of continuous refinement, the exhibition celebrates this momentous occasion with the theme "Strive Forward, Innovate for the Future." This theme underscores both the industry’s past achievements and its ambitious outlook.

Building on its far-reaching industry influence, this year’s exhibition has gathered over 1,400 exhibitors from around the world, setting a new record. The event layout and concurrent programs highlight the exhibition’s forward-thinking approach and its resolution to cover the industry's evolving ecosystem. Alongside traditional sectors such as laser intelligent manufacturing, lasers and optoelectronics, testing and quality control, optics and optical manufacturing, and infrared technology, two new special Special Areas have been introduced: Biomedical Photonics and Integrated Photonics & Quantum Technologies. The support conferences also features an expanded team of international experts and scholars, offering attendees rich opportunities for cross-border academic exchange.

On the opening day, leading industry professionals, academic institutions, research pioneers, exhibitors, and media representatives gathered to witness this historic occasion.

This dedicated exhibition Special Area features leading companies such as Thorlabs, Otophotonics, Dyna Sense, Materion, Prosum, 3Z Optics, YSENSER, Junxie, and Dayouxin, all showcasing their latest scientific and technological innovations.

High-Profile Academic Conferences and High-Impact Reports

The atmosphere of international academic exchange was particularly strong at this year's expo, as numerous international experts gathered for insightful discussions. Two major concurrent events—PHOTONICS CONGRESS CHINA and the Light Conference on Laser and Quantum—were held alongside the exhibition, further enriching the exchange of ideas.

On the morning of the first day, the keynote session of PHOTONICS CONGRESS CHINA was chaired by Bo Gu, Founder of BOS Photonics and Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, Canada.
